Superintendent's Theatre Arts Resource
This summer, students will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform a Shakespeare Play in 2 weeks. In addition, you will work with experts in the fields of a variety of topics. Possible topics include stage combat and Shakespearean Acting including dialect work.
Auditions will be held on June 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and June 6 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Please plan to attend one of the audition sessions.
All auditions will be held at The Nixon Center.
You will need to prepare a 60-second Shakespearean monologue to perform.
It can be from any Shakespeare play or you may select one of these monologues.
We will also be doing some cold readings.
Please fill out the audition forms and bring it with you to your audition.
If you can not attend either audition date, please reach out to Scott Ondovchik at the email address below.
Rehearsals will be July 10-14 and July 17-21.
Specific times will be determined later.
Since our rehearsal period is only 2 weeks long, you must be available for every rehearsal.
Students will be given scripts in June and will be expected to be off-book by the beginning of the rehearsal period in July.
July 21, 22, and 23
If demand is there, we could possibly add more shows; however, it would be within this weekend timeframe.
The specific Shakespeare show will be chosen after auditions.
Open to any current 9th - 12th grade students.
